SUMMARY:Capital City Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Capital City Film Festival (CCFF) celebrates artists from around the world by curating outstanding multimedia experiences for the community. The annual festival showcases an eclectic mix of independent films\, live music\, interactive media\, and more in Michigan’s capital city. Please visit the Capital City Film Festival website to find the several locations the films will be screened at. \n2024 Michigan Humanities funded projects: \n\n‘Investigating Incarceration: Artists for Healing and Reform’ (short films in partnership with LCC’s Take a Stand initiative); two filmmakers will be attending for a talkback.\n‘A Movie is a Portal to Home’ short films by ishkwaazhe Shane McSauby and Jess X. Snow (in partnership with the MSU Womxn of Color Initiative) .\nA Two Hearted Tale playing with the short film Boogie Bob & Chuck Berry\, filmmakers for both films will be there.\nDown by the Riverside; directors will be present and there will be a live folk performance by Jen Sygit as part of the event.\n‘Fresh Coast‘ short films.\nMarqueetown; director and crew will be there for a talkback.\n\nFunding for this program was provided by Michigan Humanities – Bridging Michigan Grant. SUMMARY:Artrageous
DESCRIPTION:A troupe of multi-talented Live performance artists\, world-class singers\, and recording artists\, highly trained dancers\, and audience motivators\, and veteran musicians hailing from the high desert of New Mexico are coming to the Historic Ironwood Theatre (HIT). Their high energy\, interactive performance is a combination of ALL ARTS on ONE STAGE\, in a frenzy of movement and color. Audience members of all ages will find themselves singing\, dancing\, and clapping along as the troupe shares their message that the arts are an integral and valuable part of human existence​.  ​An Artrageous soundtrack plays while creative art quotes and Artrageous facts are displayed on the video screen leaving the audience intrigued as to what will happen next.​The audience is immersed in the world of Artrageous and become participants in the show. Audience members are invited to join the troupe on stage for special numbers while they explore their own creativity. ​There is something for everyone\, whether you are a performer at heart or just want to be thoroughly entertained. \nFunding for this program was provided by Michigan Humanities Arts and Humanities Touring Grant.
