Mady Kouyate, Kora Player

Kora music is ancient and rich. Through his music, Mady brings messages from times past. He holds the position of a living history book, the book of the Manding people in the region of Mali, West Africa. The Kora is a 21-stringed lute-harp from the regions of Mali, Senegal, Gambia, and Guinea. Programs for schools are highly interactive and adapted for various age groups. This is a truly authentic African program with call and response singing and rhythmic game playing. Children and adults will hear the sweet messages of hard work, peace, respect, and caring for elders. Kora music will strengthen and enrich any workshop, lecture, symposium, solo concert, or community event.
