George Thomas: Multi-Media Artist

George’s work includes paintings, construction, and wire sculptures. He is best known for his box sculptures. George has had workshops throughout Michigan and art exhibits in Fremont, White Cloud, Grand Rapids, Lansing, East Lansing, and Harbert; as well as in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Nashville, Tennessee. There are two pieces of his work in a permanent collection in the Muskegon Museum of Art and one piece in Michigan State University Folk Art Museum in East Lansing. In 2002 his box sculpture, Saturday Night Bath II was selected and presented to John Paul Baptiste, former executive director of the Texas Commission on the Arts.
