Lois Sprengnether Keel (LoiS)

Lois Sprengnether Keel, LoiS, matches programs to her audience’s age and interests. Her lively style enriches her large repertoire of international folklore and Michigan tales. Programs often are participatory and may include music, sign language, or puppets. Among her Michigan programs, LoiS re-enacts Liberetta Lerich Green, who grew up on a Shelby Township Underground Railroad Station and aided Civil War home front efforts. A certified Word Weaving trainer, she conducts workshops for beginners through experienced tellers.
