Fall Grant Period/2006-2009 Touring Directory
The next round of grants for Michigan’s Arts and Humanities Touring Program will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis from August 25, 2006, to September 10, 2006. The grants awarded will be from the new 2006-2009 directory available by early August. Organizations interested in applying for a grant to help bring presenters to their community or school may access a Touring Directory from the Michigan Humanities Council website or by calling 517-372-7770. The grant application and guidelines will be included in the new directory and on the website.

The Arts and Humanities Touring Program awards funds to Michigan nonprofit sponsors to help cover the fees and expenses of the touring presenters and artists listed in the Michigan Arts and Humanities Touring Directory.

The printed and on-line directory, a joint project of the Michigan Humanities Council and the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, provides schools, libraries, museums, civic and service groups, festival organizers and other organizations in Michigan a wide variety of cultural programming opportunities in the fields of dance, music, storytelling, theater, and traditional and visual arts.

Formal adjudication of all presenters and performers listed in the directory was done by about 60 individuals from appropriate humanities and arts fields who evaluated applicants' materials and recommended the highest-quality performances and presentations for inclusion.

This directory lists program information, fees and contact persons provided by the artists or presenters. Although fee ranges are referenced, they are negotiable. Program planners must contact the person identified by the performer or presenter to discuss all listed information. A listing in Michigan's Arts & Humanities Touring Directory is not an endorsement by the Michigan Humanities Council or the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, nor are the councils responsible for incorrect information.
