Mady Kouyate & The Heat of Africa

Take a journey across the seas with this amazing Mandinka Jazz band. This group lead by Djely Mady Kouyate features the Kora, a 21-stringed African harp from Senegal, West Africa. These melodies are from the times of the Mandinka empire and have been preserved by Mady and his family for centuries. Ease into this ethnic music that is soothing and sweet, firery and uplifting and choose from many styles and formats. Mady Kouyate’s Heat of Africa is a precious archive brought right here to Michigan from the coast of the great continent of Africa.
