Biakuye Unity Ensemble

Among the Akan people of Ghana, West Africa, Biakuye means unity. It is the spirit of unity that brings the African and American members of Biakuye together to perform African-based music. The group offers concert programs, educational presentations, and workshops throughout the year that draw upon their large repertoire of African and American compositions. Their energetic performances engage audiences through music and dance participation while providing education about African culture and its global influence.
