Past experience: In October 2007, I was one of the presenters for the Detroit Public Library's "Big Read". I wrote and produced a program that included the history of the Harlem Renaissance, folktales, music, and exhibits. The programs were sponsored with grants received from the National Endowment of Arts. I was one of the writers for the Literary Map of Detroit, sponsored by Marygrove College, Michigan Colleges Foundation, and a grant from SBC Ameritech Partnership. This website highlights and analyzes Detroit's importance in literature.

Suggestions for public humanities projects: I would love to develop a porject that highlights the Great Migration. There were many factors that promopted this great exodus from the south. The target audience is high school through adulthood. Whenever I talk briefly on this subject the audience wants to learn more about this era.
