Past experience: I have worked as a student and as a volunteer at historical societies. Most recently, I chaired and worked on the Archvies Committee of the Delta County Historical Society for the purpose of establishing a county archives, which opened in 2001.

As an educator, I have been involved in a variety of humanities projects, ranging from presentations to exhibits, along with course development projects. Currently, I am involved in developing an environmental science learning community, linking environmental science, American literature, and U.S. history.

Lastly, I also am an online educator, having taught U.S. History online for two years.

Suggestions for public humanities projects: I would like to develop a program for high school and college U.S. History survey instructors, training them on how to develop a classroom philosophy and pedagogy which will enable them to teach students how to use historical methodologies in order to improve understanding of contemporary problems (and to provide potential solutions) and to facilitate interdisciplinary learning. The audience would be history educators and an ideal location for this training program would be at a centrally located college or university.
