Past experience: I have participated in three NEH Institutes or Seminars; two in Asian Studies, one on Medieval Studies. I have also helped plan, participated as a focus group leader, and helped evaluate a two year project under the Human Genome Project.

 
Suggestions for public humanities projects: I would like to participate in helping to expand awareness and audience for Asian studies, and especially the Japanese Cultural Center and Tea House in Saginaw, a project currently under consideration.
