| Suggestions
for public humanities projects: I am interested in working
with community and local organizations on developing public programs
concerned with the documentation, preservation, and presentation of
Michigan cultural heritage and of traditional arts. One project of
particular relevance to Michigan and of substantial public import
would involve documenting the experience of workers of different cultural
and ethnic background who moved here to service the automobile industry.
Oral histories collected from Native American, African American and
Italian workers, for instance, could provide the foundation for developing
an exhibition to present the unique contributions of these groups
to the fabric of Michigan's diversity. |

| Comments:
I am also very interested in assisting grass-roots organizations
develop community-based projects directed towards urban renewal. Ability
to travel. |
