Past experience: Currently a professor at Univ. of Michigan teaching American Culture, English, & Art and Design. Director of Imagining Michigan. I have served as a member of the board of the Michigan Humanities Council in the late 1990's until 2000. I have been involved in MHC funded projects, as a planner, partner, proposal wirter, and participant, including the Imagining Michigan conferences and the Arts of Citizenship Students on Site workshop. I have served as a porject evaluator for MHC and participated in the NEH review. My public scholarship includes selected lectures, national meetings, consultations, and publications. 1999 - Wingspread Conference on Civic Responsibilities of Research Universities and 2001 Kettering Foundation, Seminar on Public Scholarship.
