Past experience: I planned and presented two conferences in Virginia in the 1980s, supported by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities: "Terrorism: Voices, Faces, Echoes" and "Rethinking College Athletics."

I was a participant in three Summer Seminars for College Teachers, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities: 1981, Alasdair MacIntyre, "The Virtues in Aristotle and Hume"; 1984, Joel Feinberg, "Moral Limits of the Criminal Law"; 1987, Peter French, "Varieties of Responsibility."

I wrote two proposals in the early 1990s to the National Endowment for the Humanities: "Incorporating Minority Perspectives in the Medical Humanities."
