Past experience: I was the implementer for the outreach portion of Chicago's PUPPETROPOLIS, an international puppet festival, working with the Chicago Park District and the Field Museum. I set up fourteen sites of 10 week puppet workshops throughout the city's underserved areas, wrote an activity guide and coordinated a culminating event that was attended by over 7,000 people. I also planned and implemented Evanston Arts Week, the largest dedicated arts week celebration in Illinois in the year 2001 which included 62 events attended by over 5,000 people.

Suggestions for public humanities projects:I am especially interested in women's issues. I would like to see a community based exploration of women's domestic roles and artifacts--for example an exhibition and symposium on the history of laundry, funded by Benton Harbor's whirlpool corporation. Start with stones and lye soap and finish with the hi tech wonder machines of today. And what ever happened to the laundry chute?
