Major Grants

The project will engage 35 libraries across the state and will consists of a juried selection of 20 fiction and nonfiction titles published in 2009. Titles must be set in Michigan or the Great lakes or written by a Michigan author. Proposal covers the statewide tour of libraries by some of the Notable authors. Consideration is given to libraries that have not previously participated in the program. The tour engages authors/scholars in discussions and readings in communities throughout Michigan. The inaugural event is a special public affair entitled "A Night for Notables." Attendees have the opportunity to listen to the authors, speak with them in person and obtain personal book signings.
