The Humanities Council at the Grand Rapids Public Library has been awarded a $10,000 Public Humanities Development grant for “Reading Along the River: Celebrating Books and Libraries in Kent County.” The library will provide programming including a book-reading campaign, live humanities presentations, new humanities resources in the form of book discussion kits, new poetry by local authors (including a new Poet Laureate for Grand Rapids), and new web resources.
