Keweenaw Krayons Traditions Alive Program Presentation to the Eastern UP History Group, St. Ignace, Michigan

May 10 & 11, 2003
Keweenaw Krayons Traditions Alive Program will have cooking and sketching demonstrations at the  "Unique Shops of the Keweenaw Spring Tour" at the Ramblin' Rose Art Center in Mohawk, MI.

May 11, 2003
12 - 5 pm. Keweenaw Krayons Traditions Alive Program will participate in the "Heritage Fair" at the Copper Country Mall in Houghton, MI. A display will be provided from 12-5 and students will be in costume at the mall from 1-3.

May 17, 2003
9:00 am. Keweenaw Krayons Traditions Alive Program will have a presentation to the Northland History Consortium Conference in the Memorial Union Ballroom at Michigan Tech University, Houghton,MI.

Keweenaw Krayons Traditions Alive Program will have a presentation at Tea on the Laurium Manor Porch.

June 13, 2003
7:00 pm. Keweenaw Krayons Traditions Alive Program will have a presentation at the Bridgefest Parade.

1:00 - 3:00 pm. Keweenaw Krayons Traditions Alive Program will have a presentation at the South Range Museum Open House 1 - 3 p.m.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Keweenaw Krayons Traditions Alive Program will participate at Day of Fun at the Ramblin' Rose Arts Center, Mohawk - Ice Cream Making - 1900's Toy Making and more.

July 1, 2003
Keweenaw Krayons Traditions Alive Program will paticipate at South Range Centennial Celebration

Keweenaw Krayons Traditions Alive Program will participate in area (Mohawk, Ahmeek, Lake Linden, etc.) parades throughout the day.

Keweenaw Krayons Traditions Alive Program will participate in the "Calumet Heritage Day" events, Calumet, MI.

Keewenaw Krayons of Mohawk has been awarded a $15,000 Local Network grant to produce "Keweeenaw Traditions Alive." The program will allow middle school and high school youth from Keewenaw and Houghton counties to explore local history and share this history through role-playing. Presentations are to take place at Keewenaw National Historical Park cooperating sites and regional festivals.
