Award: $15,000

The Westsiders of Detroit has been awarded a $15,000 Local Network Grant to produce the theatrical play, "Across the Boulevard." This production, scheduled to take place at Detroit's Northwestern High School in late September or October 2002, will focus on the history of the people and institutions that made the west side of Detroit a nurturing Black enclave. Wayne State University Theatre Department will oversee the actual production; Detroit Public School students will be the performers.
